What makes Routine different?

Science, transparency, cost, and sustainability. We’ve curated only the strongest, most powerful strains with targeted, clinically proven results and will always be transparent in sharing the data so you can make an informed decision about your health. And since we handle the selection, manufacturing, delivery, and everything in between, we’re passing on the savings to you by charging far less (sometimes more than 50% less!) than other probiotic brands.

Above all, we care deeply for the planet and if we’re going to create a product, we’re going to make sure it has the most minimal impact on the environment. Our cardboard packaging is made from recycled materials and can be recycled again, our pouches and mailers are compostable, and our glass jar is reusable and recyclable.

Routine has ashwagandha, too. What is that?

Ashwagandha is an herb with roots in India’s ayurvedic wellness tradition. Also called Withania somnifera, it’s a centuries-old adaptogen that helps make you more resilient (adapt!) to stress. It’s also loved as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anxiety fighter and is one of the few herbs with significant clinical research to back up its physical and mental health benefits, which we explain more here.

How often do I take Routine?

Once a day. We recommend taking Routine just before meals so the probiotic can reach your digestive tract more quickly, but we formulated Routine to be flexible with your schedule. That’s why we chose a delayed-release capsule, which tends to minimize potential interference by food or stomach acids.

How long does it take to see results?

Every body is different, but studies have shown that probiotics can spark change in as little as a week. Here are the numbers behind Routine’s strains:

- Bifidobacterium lactis Bl-04 and Lactobacillus acidophilus LA-14—the key strains in Routine that fight immunity—increased immunoglobulin G levels within 7 days, mobilizing a faster immune response. 

- Those who took Bifidobacterium lactis HN019 over the span of 2 weeks had a significantly shorter gut transit time—the time it takes for food to makes its way through your digestive tract—than those who took a placebo.

- Lactobacillus acidophilus LA‐14 and Lactobacillus rhamnosus HN001 have been shown to reduce vaginal itching and discharge symptoms at 3 and 6 months, respectively.

- Those who took Bifidobacterium lactis B-420 experienced a significant improvement in fat mass especially in the abdominal area, waist circumference, and plasma cortisol concentrations (known to suppress inflammation) at the 6-month mark compared to those who took a placebo.

And creating a long-term Routine ensures the health benefits will last. Studies have shown that sticking with probiotics for the long run encourages positive and “significant changes” in your gut microbiota.
